Good Howtoo, but remember the "install" in the apt-get install command (I offen forget it myself, the word "get" confuses me).

Changed all apt-get (I hope). Cut and paste can be very annoying if you write wrong the first time.

Nice howto. I'm trying to install themes in Ubuntu, and am using the tar.bz2 format. When I try to install using the theme manager it gives me an error saying "Invalid format." Tar.gz files work just fine. Anyone know how to get around that?

A good guide, thanks. Just a note: the two links to the gDesklets have typos.

Exclamation Re: HowTo: theme your desktop

Can some people please tell me what the default skin for mplayer in Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake is? I am trying to get the same one for myself in Debian Etch testing unstable. Also, if you would create a link to yours that I could download, that would be great. Thanks.

The standard theme is clearplayer. You can download it on the Mplayer download page under the skin section. It is now the third from the bottom.
