Does the AMD/ATI have only 2 types of hardware video-acceleration and NVidia 18 different types of videoformat to accelerate, or is it only diffent way to show the acceleration?

And all type of tips and also links to furher reading are apriciatet. /Cheers

Ubuntu 12.04LTS 64bit, 13.10 Lubuntu 32-bit on eeePCs and OSX on a G4 800MHz iMac (iLamp). I think I have an W7 on one of my Virtualbox machine under 12.04LTS?

vaapi is known to be less featureful than vdpau, so maybe that's the case.

Also, please wrap your CLI output in CODE blocks.

I have a problem with H264 (low resolution, not HD-videos) The video being better and with less flickering without hardware acceleration, played with XBMP with XvBA support.

    Bump

How is it really? Does Nvidia AV-acceleration support more types of compressed videos, and make them more view-able? Nvidia maybe add more noise to make the high compessed video looks better?
