Sorry for the double post - thought I was posting to gaming, but it was actually the free discussion forum. Well, in any case:

Some of my thoughts on the matter had to take the form of a blog:

This is certainly a shot in the arm not only for Gaming on Linux, but the biggest gaming software developer adding Ubuntu to it's release stream is a great the for everyone!

Could bring Linux into a more mainstream environment!

Ya i'm not a major gamer, but if steam comes to linux that will happen. I hope
the "Big Picture" linux box comes out with it next year. Instead of waiting for a
720 (or PS4) to come out and replace my dead 360 I'll go with a Valve/Linux
box. If valve beats MS & sony to the punch they are going to have problems.

Having Steam as an addon to a MediaPC OS would be sweet. *cough*XBMC maybe?*cough*

I'm willing to bet many 'casual' users don't even realize that you can install a different OS onto their machine, much less be willing to try it. This means windows will have a large market pretty much no matter what they do, at least for now.
Being in my mid-thirties, accept in the early eighties, I grew up in a mostly Microsoft world.
But then I realized that the Windows world was a horrible detour BG took us on. For the most
part, the kids today (25 and Under) will dictate what platform will dominate. Today, kids are computer
sauve (DIYers) and aren't confined to the Windows world. The emersion of the androidOS has changed
    that.

My grandmother can keep Windows, I didn't want to fixer her MS problems anyways. I just say i run Linux!!

    My thoughts:

World of Goo - Indie darling, enough said.
Eversion - Oh dear gosh, you gotta play this once, there's a free version on the developers website)
Trine 2 - I played the first one, interesting physics platformer with other stuff going on.
Serious Sam 3: BFE - An FPS, hooray!
    Galcon Fusion - Wha?
Spacechem - Everyone says this is great, fun, challenging and even educational, but it just hasn't hooked me, maybe I haven't played enough.
Steel Storm - Support motorsep (he's one of the few game developers that actively wants more Linux games)!
Solar 2 - Solar? I hardly knew her!
Amnesia: Dark Descent - Yes, we all know how terrifying this game is meant to be.
Dynamite Jack - Oh right, that stealth game where you frequently use bombs. Gotta find out how this game plays sometime.
Crusader Kings II - Medieval strategy game? Sure, why not.
Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP - Arty popular indie game where I, yet again, don't quite get or haven't played much of.
Waveform - *insert awkward humour in the form surfer lingo here*
Cubemen - So it's like Minecraft, but completely different and in no way comparable. But since that's what people think of whenever a game with cubes as part of the aesthetic pops up, I thought I'd bring it up.
Left 4 Dead 2 - That's that zombie game right?

Trine 2 but no Trine on the list, despite there being a Linux client? That better change!

You can always install Trine from Desura.
If you are asking about a problem with your system, make sure to give details about your setup. OTHERWISE, NO ONE CAN HELP YOU.
