    I've applied for the beta but I only play Rage/Steam in Wine on Ubuntu...crossing fingers. Also I'm not a big gamer but might buy Call of duty.

    As far as I know they are not porting Call of Duty to linux.

    Anybody got a video of the Valve-speech at UDS-R? I see Marks keynote is up on youtube, but can't find much else...

    Applied for the beta last night. If I get in I guess I'll be partitioning my SSD and installing Ubuntu!

    Very true, but another perfectly reasonable explanation would be that they only wanted 1000 applicants, not a quarter of a million. Under-publicizing the application is a good way to limit the number of applicants to a manageable pool.
