    Question Apperance setting problem.

    Hello Peoples:

Got a problem with the apperance setting in 12.04. I add my backgrounds to the picture tab in the 'Apperance" setting and close it. When I reopen it to change my background all the backgrounds in the picture tab are gone. It does not keep them there. Also when adding backgrounds if I add one I do not want the "-" button will not remove it. Any thoughts?

    Re: Apperance setting problem.

Hello Farrinux same thing here on my Asus EEE 1215T (X86) but strangely not on my X64 desktop, both running Ubuntu 12.04 dual boot with W7. I haven't really worried or tried to find a solution other than making a "desktop wallpaper" file in pictures. I just open a photo, right click and make it background. I hope someone can answer your question, be nice to figure this thing out. Best of luck, West.

I think that you have to permanently add your chosen image to the Pictures folder in your Home directory.

Then it will always appear in "Change Desktop Background"

Putting the images you want to use in the Pictures folder should work. I've tried it and it works for me.

They were in the picture folder in a folder called wallpaper. However putting them in the root of pictures does make them show up in the "Apperance" setting. Who thought this out!
