It sounds like mplayer was not installed. open synaptic and see if it is.
That was my idea, too. (My only idea.)
I have mplayer32 installed. There's no mplayer to install. There's a kmplayer, that is not installed, but i'm in GNOME. Should i install that?
    I have allowed all sources.

If you dont see mplayer you dont have the Multiverse enabled. You may have to enable it and the universe, there is a link at the top of the main howto page. If you added them , you may need to reload if you havent already.

Thanks. I thought, that if i check all the boxes i enable everything.
Now i installed mplayer, but seems like it is not working well.

    W. Media Player video: this is quite good, the sound is ok, but sometimes the picture becomes cloudy or some ghosts are in the backround. Then it becomes good again.
I checked my favourite online radio. It says it is downloading something, but stops surprising fast, but no sound. Sometimes it is even freezing my browser. (.ram file)
I checked the test you suggest with the movie trailers. The first 2 seconds were OK, but then it was extremely slowly buffering. And sometimes even freezed my browser.
    There are no control buttons.

    Hmmm...
    I downloaded that wmv file.
It is the same with Xine, Gxine, MedaPlayer and Mplayer.
However i checked it on XP and i experienced no problem there.
Do you have idea where can the problem be?

Lots of pages to read through so I am being lazy. I have a problem . When I install firefox32 using your script, I no longer have access to firefox 64bit. No big deal I guess but synaptic keeps asking me to update ia32-libs-gtk. I did this last night and today only 64bit firefox was working even when i made sure I clicked the 32bit icon. No matter what I do, 64bit FF comes up. So..I redid the install and now like I said, no 64bit FF and I am getting asked to update again. Any idea's?
