Howto Install 32 bit Firefox with Flash w/sound and Java for AMD64

Hi,

I did whatever you wrote and really could install Firefox32 and Flash, thanks for that But I have a problem: After I write the commands below, I am still cannot hear the sound of flash applications.

chown -R <username>:users /home/<username>/.macromedia
then,
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libesd.so.0 /usr/lib/libesd.so.1
sudo apt-get install alsa-oss

What is the problem, how can I fix the problem ?

Did you do it exactly as shown, or did you replace the <username> with the name you sign in with?

diont get a linux32 error. when i type firefox32 it says

*edit it works now. All i did was uninstall the x64 version and reinstall it and now they both work.*
The plugins dont seem to work though i get

LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /usr/local/firefox32/plugins/libflashplayer.so [/usr/local/firefox32/plugins/libflashplayer.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory]

for all the plugins but i checked and the file really does exist. What do I do?

open a terminal, type in

ls -al /usr/local/firefox32/plugins

Then do the same thing with

ls -al /usr/local/firefox32

Copy the output of both and paste it in a message here.

I don't know. Must have been something I did. I purged all the debs and then reran the script and it's working perfectly now. Thanks!

Cool. One nice thing about the script is it installs .deb files unlike the howto. Its easy to remove everything.

I have one more minor thing. The 64 bit version speaks to me on my language, while my firefox32 speaks English. How can I set its language to my language?

Have you rebooted since the install?

Secondly on the top of the howto is this statment.

*** The howto/scripts may not install 32bit firefox with support for languages other than English. If you try it and your language is supported please send me a messsage so I can add it to the list.***

I dont know how to add other languages at present.

Thanks for the how-to. It works like a champ. One question - In the regular firefox (64-bit) I can print things no problem, but with the firefox 32-bit, When I want to print something, my hp Deskjet 3845 is not listed. I'm assuming it's the 32-bit workaround thing. Is there any way I can work around this?
