Sorry, my mistake. I didn't select Italian language in about:config.

Just changing mplayer_3.50 to mplayer_3.55 does not do it for me.
What wget command did you use exactly?

    jacques@sky:/tmp$ wget -c http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/poo...untu1_i386.deb
    --00:55:48-- http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/poo...untu1_i386.deb
    => `mozilla-mplayer_3.55-1ubuntu1_i386.deb'

There's only a little issue in the script: mozilla-mplayer_3.50-1ubuntu3_i386.deb is no more available on Ubuntu repository. I've changed every occurrence in mozilla-mplayer_3.55-1ubuntu1_i386.deb.
    Videos are ok.
Another issue is that is impossible to localize Firefox using an official xpi language pack, at least for Italian.

I think you changed too much in package url. Your url:
    mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/multiverse/m/mozilla-mplayer_3.55-1ubuntu1_i386.deb
    but file is located in
    mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/multiverse/m/mplayerplug-in/mozilla-mplayer_3.55-1ubuntu1_i386.deb

Re: Howto Install 32 bit Firefox with Flash w/sound and Java for AMD64

I ran the script to install Firefox 3.0 32-bit on Gutsy. It works and so does Flash Player. THANK YOU!!

    I have two issues:

    1. I got part-way through the installation of Java and it timed out because my internet connection went down temporarily. How can I recover from that?

    2. On my machine I have two accounts - an admin and a non-admin account. I want to have common bookmarks between Firefox 32-bit and 64-bit. It works under the admin account but Firefox 3.0 32-bit does not pick up the bookmarks in the non-admin account's /home/.mozilla/firefox folder. I tried "wide-open" permissions on that folder and the files in it but that didn't work. I also gave the non-admin account admin permissions temporarily but to no avail. I cannot locate where the 32-bit Firefox is storing user data for the non-admin account.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I think above substitution should work only for Hardy.
Try changing mozilla-mplayer_3.31-1_i386.deb in mozilla-mplayer_3.31+main-1ubuntu1_i386.deb and run the script again.
Test url you've posted above works for me.

Any resolution on this? I also get the almost identical error log which starts with RSA premaster secret error. Are there extra 32-bit pieces required? This is for connection to secure applets where I work. Multiple applets generate the same error message and do not work. They work fine on 32-bit ubuntu 8.04. Note also that the link for Does this game run? works just fine for me. I'm running swiftweasel32 on my 64-bit ubuntu 8.04 and get the exact same errors using FF3-32 and Icecat.

Sorry, I had a bad experience with this script.

On a fresh Hardy install it breaks apt. It fails to download several files from *anywhere*.

The installed browser (swift) misses all plugins which I selected.

And additionally synaptic reports dependency errors now.

I don´t go futher now and reinstall the whole thing. easy 30 mins......

I respect your work but this is my experience and perhaps, now some others dont run in such troubles.

    Cheers,
    Jens

    Hi Kilz,

I have run into a problem while installing your script. I installed it and didn't notice any errors although I may have missed them. After installation I noticed flash wouldn't work. In my previous experiences with your script(Dapper,Feisty,Gutsy, and Hardy) I would run your script again with the browser closed and all would be fixed. This time no such luck. This is the error message I received while running the script again with browser closed. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Howto Install 32 bit Firefox with Flash w/sound and Java for AMD64

The script works fine for me except that firefox keeps crashing if i download and enabled themes add-on.

Is there any fix? The default theme is a bit ugly as the icons all apeared as "x".

    Im running it on Hardy/amd64.

    TIA'
