Insurgency 2 will have a Linux port if they hit $200,000!

What happens if I help fund a game and the developers are unable to achieve a release? Is their any safeguards against this?

    No, there aren't any.

Make no mistake, pledging is a risk and there are no guarantees. You have to decide for yourself whether the risk is worth it.

Sorry if I am going off topic just I cant help feel, with the amount of money raised by some projects, that this could be used as a scamming platform.

But thank you for your answer

This game looks interesting, http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...a-a-unique-rpg . Did anyone take a look on it? I guess, I should take a risk for this game.

I haven't seen Arakion mentioned anywhere. I think more Linux users should support it simply for having Linux support right from the start. Seeing games like Project Eternity make Linux support a stretch goal that is double the initial goal of Windows support (and 600 000 US dollars more than Mac OS support) is a bit of a joke in comparison.
