    Ok , open a terminal and copy-paste this command from here to your terminal..

    echo 'ath9k' | sudo tee -a /etc/modules
    Reboot your system and report back if WiFi enabled and working as you expected.

    it's OK now, thank you very much... In conclusion, the solution is at message #37. The secondary problem, namely repeating the commands after every reboot, has been solved at message #44.

    Hi, I am glad to see you have it sorted, sorry I was not available more I just finally got home to my computer where I can get on more.

    Blacklisting hp_wmi got rid of the block and
    Code:
    echo 'ath9k' | sudo tee -a /etc/modules
    made it load the driver at boot.
