Getting "Broken pipe" error with logging off when using Gimp

    Hi everyone,

All of a sudden I got a weird problem with Ubuntu 12.04 on my ThinkPad T420. When I launch GIMP, open any picture and try to edit it, the system logs me off saying "could not write bytes: Broken pipe."

I tried to restart the laptop and to fix broken packages, but with no effect.

Does anyone have an idea what can be done with it?

    Thanks.

Which version of gimp do you have?
I recommend you to install gimp 2.8 according to this site:

I had 2.6. The new one seems to work for me, thanks.
