Sound gone

Hello all.

I've been living happily with my Ubuntu 12.04 and Windows 7 side by side.

Some days ago I invested in a Line 6 UX1 external soundcard, and set it up in Windows. The next day, I logged into Ubuntu again, and discovered that there was no sound.

My SoundBlaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 was working perfectly in Ubuntu before installing UX1 in Windows.

Output-devices include both UX1 and SB X-Fi, but still no sound. Even the volumewidget in the upper right corner is gone.

How do I get the sound back in Ubuntu?

PS: AlsaMixer reports just "Power LED" + 00 for the SB X-Fi-card. All seems normal with UX-card, but no sound. Both works perfectly in Windows 7.
