    Hey,

    I just can't connect to a wirless Network using the build in networkdevice. The Networkmanger shows "device not manged". It has been connected to the network during the setup prozess.

    Another usb Wirlesscard is working perfect (curently pluged in under wlan1) but I want to use the buildin.

    Here are some Information's. If you need more just ask.

    Re: Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 not working on XUbuntu 11.4

    Please detach the USB wireless, make sure the wireless switch is set to ON and run and post:
    Code:
    rfkill list all
    cat /etc/network/interfaces
    cat /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf
    Thanks.

    It is very confusing to try to sort the readings between built-in and USB, so when we are running diagnostics, please be sure the USB is detached.

    Re: Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 not working on XUbuntu 11.4

    Ok, i'll remove the externel one. But I need to replug it to post the results.

    Code:
    $ rfkill list all
    0: phy0: Wireless LAN
        Soft blocked: no
        Hard blocked: no
    Code:
    $ cat /etc/network/interfaces
    # This file describes the network interfaces available on your system
    # and how to activate them. For more information, see interfaces(5).

    # The loopback network interface
    auto lo
    iface lo inet loopback
    I've just removed the configuration of the wlan0 out of this file. It doesn't make sense there, if I want to mange this with the Networkmanger. Thanks for the hint.

    Code:
    $ cat /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf
    [main]
    plugins=ifupdown,keyfile
    dns=dnsmasq

    [ifupdown]managed=false
    Now the Networkmanger print: "Device not ready".

    So far, so good! Now, again with the USB detached, please let me see:
    Code:

    Thanks.

    Re: Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 not working on XUbuntu 11.4

    The rusult:

    Code:
    $ sudo iwlist wlan0 scan

    wlan0 Interface doesn't support scanning : Network is down
    Edit: rebooting solved this error. @chili555: Thank's for your help and time.
