    Flash player doesn't load

I recently did a fresh install of Ubuntu 11.10 (this is the first time I've installed Ubuntu on this pc)

Now, I stumbled across a problem I've had before in the past.
Flash player is installed. But, YouTube videos and anything flash related doesn't show.

So I decided to install Ubuntu restricted extra and Ubuntu restricted add ons, and replace flashplugin-installer with adobe-flashplugin.

I haven't had any luck solving the "issue"

I'm wondering if anyone's come across this before?
Or knows of a solution? Thanks in advanced

Also, my video card is a GeForce 6200 (256MB) and the additional drivers for the card are installed

The CPU is an Intel Pentium III (1400MHz)

    With 512MB of RAM
My setup: MSI E350dM-EE3 motherboard, 4gb ddr3 ram, x2 250gb Seagate Barracuda sata hdds, x2 1tb WD Green sata hdds. Sony SDM-HS95P monitor, Logitech usb mouse, keyboard

(I am no longer an active Ubuntu user).

Does that mean Adobe Flash does not work "at all" on Ubuntu?

all depends of outside url: if they request newer flash release than installed on ubuntu, then it does not read these flash encoded things.

    Re: Flash player doesn't load

I downloaded an archived version of Adobe Flash (10.3.183.20), and copied the .so into Firefox's plugins folder and it seems to be alright for now

It's a pain that Adobe's dropped support for Linux, and I guess the 11.2.202.235 version just doesn't seem to work for me...

11.2 is the last version available unless you install chrome and it will continue to get security updates for five years but there will be no fixes or development. I use the Flash Aid extension to install and have had no problem watching Youtube videos so far. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...don/flash-aid/

Pepper Flash available in Chrome will continue to developed and this is also working fine on my computer. The future is HTML 5 , but I have the feeling that Flash is going to be a media mainstay for a while yet.

    Hey Frogs Hair

I tried Flash Aid aswell, and it didn't work at all for me.
11.1 from the archives seems to work fine, it's just 11.2 that doesn't

HTML 5 works fine aswell (for some YouTube-videos)
