    11.10 /dev/ttyUSB

    Hello!
I have a USB modem and to use it on ubuntu 11.10 I should to switch it into serial mode by
    Code:
    sudo /sbin/modprobe usbserial vendor&product
but there is no any /dev/ttyUSB* to next step.
It worked on 10.04, (and there was ttyUSB2), but on 11.10 it`s not working...
    Please help

Technically a USB should just work. Have you tried using it to connect to the Internet, by setting up in Network Manager's "Mobile Broadband" section?

In the top right of your desktop (assuming you're using a default install), click the sort of triangle icon.
