Ubuntu doesn't recognise soundcard on my Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3-B3 Motherboard

Hi guys, a little help would be appreciated here.

According to the MOBO manual, I have an on board Realtek ALC892/889 Codec, but the audio options on Ubuntu 11.10 only gives me the option of 2 channel sound. I should be able to get 2, 4, 5.1 & 7.1

How can I set this up correctly?

I have the same issue with Ubuntu 12.04 runing on a ASRock A75M-ITX Motherboard.

    I have opened a bug report https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1014897

    So far, no news....

Let me know if you have any (good) news!
