    Question Wrong architecture amd_64

    I am using a INTEL x64 bit system and i can't download anyting from the software center or any package manager. it says "Wrong architecture amd_64" or the package system is broken.






    Dell Demison 5150 dual core intel P4 x_64 3.00 ghZ (no joke)w/ hyper threading and speed step,ubuntu 11.04/windows XP 2 HDDs, 1 HD DVD re writer, x10 speed.

    Did you install Ubuntu 32-bit or 64-bit?
    Which version of Ubuntu are you using?
    (Open the System Monitor to find these answers if you are not sure.)

    Did you upgrade from an earlier version, or is this a clean installation?

    What happens when you run Update Manager, press Check and then Install Updates?
    Always make regular backups of your data (and test them).
