    Blu Ray Grain Removal

I have been recently archiving Blu Ray movies to my HDD with Handbrake. I recently just ripped Tron Legacy. I set the average video bitrate to 10000 kbps with an audio pass through with the original track being 1536 kbps. I did the math and the rip should have been roughly 10.39 Gigabytes however the conversion turn out to be 14.8 Gigabytes.

I have a hunch that this discrepancy is due to the amount of ISO grain that was in the original so I tried Handbrake's built in denoise filter however the movie losses detail in all parts, not just the areas where the grain is most evident. Is there a denoise filter that will smooth out the areas that are out of focus (ie the background) but retain the sharpness of the foreground? Any help would be appreciated.
