>2.6 kernels and remote lirc problems
I thought I'd post a new thread for this issue. There are many people who are struggling to make the standard Microsoft remotes work correctly with later kernels. I have been scratching around the net and have found there are many people with remote issues since lirc was included in the kernel.
The majority of problems are with Mythtv where the ok and most other buttons don't work, although the power(sleep)and left/right/up/down seem to work. The events are captured by the kernel and interpreted as keyboard strokes, not lirc.
There are lots of posts, but there is no fix so far.
Does anyone know of a way to disable or remove the in-kernel event-driven remote control that is now included in the kernel without having to recompile a new kernel?
There must surely be a way to do this.
Hope somebody out there has the wherewithal to attack this.
Tony.
