Alt Tab Freezes in Gnome Classic

Alt Tab freezes the entire system when using Gnome classic. Using Gnome Classic with no effects, Alt Tab works fine. Is there a way to fix Alt Tab in Gnome Classic?

I did try sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions-alternate-tab, but I get E: Unable to locate package gnome-shell-extensions-alternate-tab

    Any help is appreciated.

What version of Ubuntu are you using? Are you using plain Gnome Classic, or Gnome Classic (No effects)?
    Live long and prosper.
And use lotsa Linux, BSD, and Emacs.

Using Ubuntu 12.04. Added Gnome, removed Unity. Have no problems with AltTab using Gnome Classic (No effects), my issue is with Gnome Classic. When using Gnome Classic, AltTab freezes PC. Required to kill power to restart.

    Thats a terrible, terrible thing...
I don't know if this might be useful to you, but, since you mention that you removed Unity, I'll go ahead
I don't like Unity either, and I like Gnome Shell a bit, but I like more the traditional and now dead GNOME, so I first installed 12.04, then GNOME Shell and used that and Classic GNOME, but I was a little concerned to have to pay the Unity toll (and having all that crud underneath that I was sure I'll never use) just to get my system going (BTW, no problem at all Alt Tabbing)...
So I Googled a bit and found the project Ubuntu GNOME Shell Remix, which is basically 12.04 without Unity.
    Currently I'm using that on a Thinkpad T60 (32 bits) and Linux Mint 13 on a T60p (32 bits).
I have no problem with Alt Tab on any of those setups.

    Hope this helps.

I really, really miss GNOME 2, I'm getting more and more tempted to switch to Scientific Linux.

Thank you. I will definitely look into Ubuntu Gnome Remix. But I am curious why adding one desktop environment and removing another is a terrible thing.

I thought the terrible thing I did was upgrade from 10.04 to 12.04.
