External Monitor Not Detected

I just put a fresh install of Kubuntu 12.04 on, now it will not detect my monitor in "System Settings>Desplay and Monitor"

I can get it to come on in my Nvidia settings, but I can't get the resolution right, so text looks bad and my Panel is below where I can't see it. Before I reformatted all I had to do is plug in the monitor close the lid and restart.

One thing that did happen was the graphic driver "Nvida Current" did not work and after my splash screen nothing else would load. EDIT: It would work in failsafe mode!

So I installed Nvidia post-release updates so everything works accept for the second monitor.

I had similar issues running my Nvidia Geforce 560 ti. I followed this video which sorted out my problems.

This did not help. It did not update my nvidia Version.

Its currently
NVIDIA Driver Version: 295.49

Are there any special "Multi Monitor" drivers that I need?

Don't mean to be annoying, but I would like to fix this but I am at a loss of what to do, and I would really like to get this fixed.

I am sure someone would get around to this but I am afraid of it getting lost on page 3 .
