    How do I remove firefox?

Since I use Chrome or Chromium and use Gmail for emails, I have no need for Thunderbird or Firefox.
No problems removing Thunderbird but when I try to remove Firefox, it wants to install Epiphany and it's dependencies.

How do I just remove Firefox and leave Chrome as the only browser?

I hope this answer isn't totally off the mark:

Are you using Synaptic? When you mark for removal, is Synaptic telling you it wants to install Epiphany?

If that is the case, I think I would just leave one of the two on the machine, as there must be dependencies somewhere that requires some part of these packages.

Yes, that is exactly what is happening.
Don't see the point of replacing one for the other so I will have to leave Firefox on I reckon.

I don't NEED to remove it, just annoyed when I choose to and can't )

    its ubuntu idoit-proofing.

Ubuntu by default must have a browser installed or else it will fetch another browser and install it.

Ubuntu half-way to macs and i hate it

Just installer another browser like chromium and you should be able to uninstall firefox

i believe it must be install by the ubuntu repos
