    Minimal installation with Openbox?

    Gentlemen,

How do I do a minimal installation of Ubuntu and add Openbox? I want to try Ubuntu without the extra fat, kinda doing a minimalistic, simple stup a-la Crunchbang. Is it as simple as making a minimal installaiton and then sudo apt-get install openbox ?

    Thanks for all your help.
    Coming soon, please be patient.
In the meantime, check my blog (Spanish reading LOL)

Ubuntu Minimal CD is what you're looking for.

Install it, and then install the appropriate packages (xorg, gdm, menu, openbox, ...)

    +1!

    This might also be helpful:

I would note however that in that example Susan is installing icewm rather than openbox, and you may not want firefox or synaptic.

You may also prefer a display manager other than gdm, like lightdm.
