12.04 menus broken with desktop effects

Hi,

In Kubuntu 12.04, there is a problem that appears intermittently but quite often. Only while desktop effects are on, menus open half way through, and you have to move the cursor over the entries for them to appear.

It's the main KDE menu, but the problem affects many app. menus too. I tried disabling all individual desktop effects, also tried changing from OpenGL to XRender, none worked. Any advice?

Solved.

Enable the fade desktop effect if you've disabled it like me.
