Many thanks linfidel!
I think I was able to follow your instructions, as well as the ones from http://windowslivewire.spaces.live.com/blog/...
But even though it reads there that: "...now that Hotmail has POP3,...", now I'm getting the following error message:
I tried a couple of times unsuccessfully to use my regular hotmail login password, as well as another one I was required to create for a keyring(?) or whatever.Unable to connect to POP server pop3.live.com.
Error sending password: -ERR user does not have POP3 access
Please enter the POP password for ...@hotmail.com on host pop3.live.com.
Any suggestions highly appreciated!
P.S. At http://windowslivewire.spaces.live.com/blog/... it also reads:
Thus it seems like there's no way to Evolution for those with a free Hotmail account. To be able to use POP3, you need to have a Windows Live Hotmail Plus subscription. However, free users can access their emails offline either through Microsoft Outlook Connector or Windows Live Mail Client.
On the other hand it reads at http://windowslivehelp.com/solutions...e-hotmail.aspx
I suppose we might try again later this month. As part of Phase 1, we have rolled this feature out to all free users in the following countries:
UK, Canada, Australia, France, Japan, Spain, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.
Next Phases are still in planning and US will be included in Phase 2 which is targeted sometime in the month of February. We will be updating this solution article with more specific dates as we get closer to the migration.
Users registered in the countries mentioned above will be able to use the POP services for free and will not require a subscription to do so.
