Question Match the CPU speed with the appropriate speed memory

The CPU I am interested in is:

    Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Mobile Processor i7-3610QM (2.30GHz) 6MB

I want to get the optimum memory for this CPU - neither too fast, nor too slow. (I heard that it is important to get the right memory for your particular CPU...)

    The memory options are:

    16GB SAMSUNG 1333MHz SODIMM DDR3 MEMORY (4 x 4GB)
    or
    16GB SAMSUNG 1600MHz SODIMM DDR3 MEMORY (2 x 8GB)

Would it make much difference getting the faster memory?

By the way, would getting 32GB of memory be total overkill? It is meant to be quite cheap these days. I don't think there are many applications that demand that much memory.

    Thank you for your interest!

Re: Match the CPU speed with the appropriate speed memory

    Hello.

I cant answer regarding matching the right speed I would say that 32g of RAM is liable to be overkill unless you are doing some very serious work with it.

I have an i5 with 8g RAM and I dont even use 2g when doing normal tasks and dont even get near the limit when doing multi track audio processing.

You should set out what the machine is for and tailor the specs to the requirements.

    Cheers
