Problem with Open Office Writer

Hello!
I am not new to Linux but I am to Ubuntu. I have version 10.04 installed. Nowadays when I open my word processor(Open Office Writer), The font Rupee Foredian is not working (It is set as default). What happens is that the cursor is not appearing. But when I change the font it comes back. Can anyone provide an answer. (If not just give the way to change the default font!

Don't know how to solve the problem you describe, but to change the default font, in Writer:

Tools>Options>OpenOffice Writer>Basic Fonts

There you can change your default font.
