Who knew? Apparently no one has an issue with BT and phone like I have

I'm starting to get really worried about the problems we are facing with 12.04, HP mini & Acer Espire One, BT dongle from Rocketfish, and BB 9800.

Apparently no one has similar problems, so how can our problems be fixed?
What are we facing?
We have netbooks without BT, so we bought a few USB BT dongles/adapters form Rocketfish.
The moment we ran 11.10, we had no problems connecting to the internet via our phones over the BT connection (DUN).
With 12.04 there is no way to connect to the internet. We can send files, but can not browse, and definitely NOT connect to the internet.

What is going on?

Is there anyone who at least wants to give us a hint in the right direction?

I can think of two directions:

1) Going back and install the last-working version, so Ubuntu 11.10. Problem gone, and you can use BT.

2) Going forward, by analyzing and hopefully solving the BT problem. That could mean a lot of hard-core stuff and technical details (why haven't you posted a 'lsusb' in your original thread; the USB id of the BT device can help)? And you have to hope there are qualified people interested enough to help solving the BT problem. FYI: I don't use BT, so I can't help you much with BT details.

Did you do a clean install of 12.04 or did you do the upgrade via update manager? If it was updated, maybe it updated wrong.

We have 3 netbooks with the same problems.

Anyway: I would post the output of just "lsusb" (not all the extra verbose info), and then google on the relevant USB ID + "ubuntu".

FYI: I haven't got bluetooth and I don't use it, so I can only advice you on the approach. I think that if you dive into the technical details, do research (google) and post about it, others are able and willing to help.
