    RTL8188CE / Ubuntu 12.04 / Sager 8130

Hello, I recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit with Wubi on my laptop which has Windows 7 64-bit. Even though the wireless was recognized and worked out of the box, it is very unstable. I have tried to find solutions online but my situation differs from the general slow wireless problem. My wireless is not slow but unstable. I am using Chrome and I constantly see Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED) and Error 137 (net::ERR_NAME_RESOLUTION_FAILED) or it takes a longer than usual time to load a page but when a website is opened successfully, the connection is fast and I can download at normal speed. I tried Firefox too but it did not solve the problem. I have tried these solutions: http://www.unixmen.com/resolve-slow-...natty-narwhal/ and setting the MTU to 1500 (from automatic) as well as some others.

I am new to linux so please write out the commands you mention so I can copy paste them. I will try to post as much information as I can, hopefully they will all be helpful for solving this issue. Since the current router settings work normally in Windows I am hoping to not change the router settings such as disabling N and using B/G instead as that would be avoiding the problem and not solving it.

    Unhappy Re: RTL8188CE / Ubuntu 12.04 / Sager 8130

    Hi,

I'm experiencing the same unstable connection on Ubuntu 12.04 with the RTL8188CE on a Toshiba Satellite C660.

The same occurs with Linux Mint 13 Mate, which makes sense since it's based on Ubuntu.

Using Windows 7 the connection is stable, so I'm guessing this is related to the drivers.

It got so unstable that after 1min of connection to the WLAN Router, I had to dis- and reconnect to be able to use the internet for another 1-2min until it broke down again. Ubuntu will show me that I'm connected to the router with a strong signal even when the problem occurs. Strangely the connection has been quite stable for the last 30min. Maybe it's also related to heavy network usage (downloading using full bandwidth)

    Code:
    ~$ lspci | grep Network

    Hi,

I know it's an old topic but I've got the same problem with the RTL8188CE driveron a Toshiba Satellite C???(don't remember the exact number)
I'm wondering if the problem has been solved now.

    Thanks!
