Samsung Joins Linux Foundation as Platinum Member!

We are pleased to announce that Samsung is joining The Linux Foundation at the Platinum level. This is the highest level of support at The Linux Foundation and represents Samsung’s commitment to and understanding of the value of Linux and collaborative development.

Well... that's interesting news, since they recently agreed to pay Microsoft $15 per Android Install (as we all know, Android and Linux are both based on Microsoft "innovation").

Over the last few years, but intensely over the last six months, The Linux Foundation and Samsung have had strong collaborative sessions on how the company can get the most out of Linux to lower its development and ongoing maintenance costs.
Well um, excuse me, [raises hand], I bet you chumps and knuckleheads could start by refusing to pay Microsoft's troll tax. Hello!?! But anyway, that's good news for Ballmer. Any investment in Linux is an investment in Microsoft, after all.

It's great news indeed, hopefully they'll provide packages for their Printers, as the Samsung Unified Linux driver does not do it for me regarding the checking of ink levels.

Don't count on it. This arrangement has everything to do with linux based mobile devices, not desktop Linux. Translation: They probably couldn't give a rat's boo-hiney about your printer packages.

OK, guess I'm the self-appointed curmudgeon this morning...

Exactly. My Samsung Laser Printer worked Brilliantly in earlier versions of Ubuntu, Xubuntu. Kubuntu. Just cannot get my printer working in 12.04. Will have to try to again.

These companies make millions, is it really that hard to employ a group of Linux specialists to support their products. If they support their products, we will pay.
