Question Help: Less Performance in Unity 3D, But Screen Tearing in Unity2D

Hello, When I play games in Unity3D (Such as the latest Humble Bundle) they run great, but WINE games( left 4 dead 2 for example) the game stutters a little, but is very playable. When I play all these games in Unity2D they run even better, but with screen tearing. Anyone know How I can make Unity3D better for games? I have everything on MAX in the Nvidia Control Panel.

Yes I have the latest Ubuntu supported Graphics Driver

I love Unity, so no I will not install xfce/lxde on my gaming rig.

AMD Phenom II x6 @ 3.8Ghz, GTX 560 TI, 16GB Ram. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you -Dlambert

This advice is redundant and unnecessary, but what NVIDIA card are you using? The Nouveau driver is better for gaming in my case, a GeForce 210.

Randomly installed fedora 17 today, and performance in GNOME Shell is ten-fold what I was having in unity. +1 Fedora
