TrueCrypt: changing permissions of folders (to use with XAMPP)

This is probably really easy...but since I'm not that used to playing around with permissions and mount-options, some assistance would be nice:

I use XAMPP to test my webpages. Whenever XAMPP is running, localhost points to opt/lampp/htdocs/. Normally, I would just paste a link inside opt/lampp/htdocs that points to the folder I wish to access from my browser. However, now that the link is pointing to a folder located on my mounted TrueCrypt volume, I get a 403 (Access forbidden).

I can't seem to change the permissions on any of the folders on my mounted TrueCrypt volume, hence the 403. Any suggestions?

Anyone? Surely it can't be that difficult to change the permissions of the folders on the TrueCrypt-mounted volume...or to make TrueCrypt mount the volume in a way which allows for XAMPP to access the folders?
