In 12.04 LTS 64bit I experience a serious problem moving files between my ext4 partitions and ntfs or FAT32 storage. The copying goes on for a while but then suddenly freezes at about %90 of progress. Moving files with ctrl+x results in data loss as the moving can never be concluded and the source files get deleted. Only ntfs and FAT32 external usb 2.0 drives are affected and copying to ext4 or ntfs harddisk partitions goes on smoothly.
