Fonts, is there any good ubuntu or other linux fonts ?

I would like to use 1001freefonts.com but it looks like they are only for windows and mac, is this because if they say free fonts are for linux, maybe then linux users would just share them on web, or is it ok to use windows fonts on ubuntu, if i buy windows fonts do i break the license ?

I have plan to use commercical and non-commercical way the fonts i buy.

I also like that 10000 fonts what is linked from 1001freefonts.com.

How i must understand windows fonts that i can buy ?

    hi there

if the ones for windows or mac are ttf format they work fine in Ubuntu [that is most of them in fact]

    place them in your
    .fonts
    folder in your home folder

you go to home folder then do CTRL+h and will see it add your new ttf to the others then they will be in all your programs

Yes, i know that fonts do work well on ubuntu, but is it against the web site licenses, if they say commercical windows and mac fonts.

If i want to use font on ubuntu on commercical purpose on my site, then what you guys say, is this still ok.

Licencing is a legal minefield and, as such, I suggest that this forum is unlikely to produce a definitive answer to your question.

I recommend that you read the actual licence itself to establish its exact terms of use. If this is still unclear then you may need to contact the licence holder directly or obtain independent legal advice.

Alternatively, you could try to find suitable free fonts that do not have restrictive licences.
