    Help with startup script

    Hi,

I am new to ubuntu and have a basic start up script question. The script should run at startup and do the following:

    1) Collect hardware info

    2) Wait for ~2 mins

    3) During the wait, check for key-board entry

    4) If any entry is detected go to the login prompt

    5) Else reboot the machine

The purpose of the script is to collect data on several power-up cycles. The key-board entry should allow to exit from the reboot cycle so that normal operation can resume.

    Re: Help with startup script

Hi and welcome to the forums,

Could I just ask you to clarify your question, please? Are you asking where to place this startup script? Or are you asking for assistance in writing the script?
