Yahoo Messenger client for Ubuntu 12.04

As the title suggests am looking for a Yahoo Messenger client that is native to Linux (Not on wine). I have been looking at GYachI but it hasn't been updated in a while

    Any suggestions?

My OS is Ubuntu 12.04 x64

You can take a look at pidgin ,it works for a wide range of protocols, including MSN Messenger, AIM, Yahoo Messenger, Jabber, IRC, IRQ and Gadu-Gadu.

you need to look at Gyache Imporved, which is a continuation of the gyache project

Install instructions are in tarball file. just copy and paste the commands to terminal.
Read the easy to understand, lots of pics Ubuntu manual.
Do i need antivirus/firewall in linux?
Full disk backup (newer kernel -> suitable for newer PC): Clonezilla
User friendly full disk backup: Rescuezilla

You don't need to look very far. Empathy comes preinstalled on Ubuntu, and can handle the Yahoo Messenger protocol.

Otherwise you could look at Pidgin, or one of the web-based messengers such as Meebo (which is multi-protocol, just like Pidgin and Empathy).
I try to treat the cause, not the symptom. I avoid the terminal in instructions, unless it's easier or necessary. My instructions will work within the Ubuntu system, instead of breaking or subverting it. Those are the three guarantees to the helpee.

use gyache. pidgin, empathy and such can do the Yahoo IM chat, but not much else.
