    Why did Xubuntu 12.04 installation took a photo of me?

    Hi why did Xubuntu 12.04 installation took a pic of me I think for login but is it safe and where to access it? Please explain thanks.

    You took a picture of you ! via webcam, for login, (you could have clicked a pic, but you clicked take a snapshot) open your home folder press Ctrl+h to view hidden folders and it is called .face
    And yes it is safe,j ust a customization feature.

    Couldn't find the folder. Just very odd that it seem it took a pic but i cant find any where to even change the user icon. How do I change the icon pic? Thanks.

    It is not a folder, just the picture you took, you must press Ctrl (Button) + h at the same time to view hidden files, You can place any 96x96 pic or logo in your home folder name it .face and that should show up at log in, you can resize your pic or logo in Gimp !
    Note: when renaming to .face, remove the .jpg or .png or whatever extension make it just .face
