IBUS - accents like " ^ ~ not (always) working

    Hello all,
I installed IBUS with Chinese PinYin language input. No problem, works great. But after IBUS installation I have the problem that I can not write (letters with) accents anymore (eg ë, ê, ~)
The problem is a little weird though. In Terminal and the keyboard settings test area, everything works fine. In most (maybe all) other programs it doesn't write the accents at all. If I quit IBUS it writes the accent but doesn't wait the letter to put it on, like for example ^e (in terminal like before works fine)

Somebody have any idea what can be the problem? I have to write quite often German, so it is pretty inconvenient the "Umlaut" isn't working.

    Thanks for your reply
    Robin

Is there something wrong with my question? Or why nobody seems wanting to answer?
