VMWare Workstation

I'm trying out the trial of VMWare Workstation 8 in learning some about virtualization.

I'm doing this testing on a new install of Ubuntu Desktop 12.04 Precise.

Can someone tell me how you start VMWare as root? I believe you need to start it as root in order to add a physical disk to a guest.

sudo vmware
