    Lubuntu Installation closes itself

    Hello,
    I tried to install Lubuntu as a secons Operating System on my old computer.
    When I start the installation on the test system(gui mode) it closes itself after i confirmed my keyboard layout, userprofile etc.
    When I try to install it directly from the boot menue a black screen appears after i confirmed the keyboard layout, userprofile etc.

    Hardware:
    Amd Sempron 3000+
    Ram 512mb DDr 333mhz
    Radeon 9250
    Asus a7v400mx
    80 gb IDE HDD

    I hope someone can help me

    Welcome to the forums. First a couple of stupid questions.
    Did you check the md5sum of your download? See here if you have questions on that.
    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM
    and second did everything work OK when you booted from the CD or flash drive and tried it out before trying to install?
    These are two (in my opinion) very important steps to do before installation.

    The alternate ISO is worth trying.
    Bringing old hardware back to life. About problems due to upgrading.

    I checked the md5sum. the image is ok
    In live mode(CD) everything worked fine

    but I wasnt sure if it would delete my whole HDD so I cancelt it

    In a live boot you can create space for the new installation using Gparted. When you install after that the system will let you add Lubuntu next to Windows.
