System doesn't ask for passwords while performing Admin funnctions
Yes I know that I ask a bizarre question.
This is not my problem but my friend. I'm in the US he lives in Sweden. He knows nothing about computers. We work together sharing our website.
I have very little to offer. Despite my instruction he cannot find "about" to tell me what version he has. Just found out that he uses USB stick. Free space left 50 MB.
While opening Synaptic package manager he can do changes but system doesn't ask him or passwords. Never heard of such thing(s).
Unless it is custom complied release. (with build in policies)
I know that there are illegal Windows out there "home made"
I tried few dozens of Linux flavors in my life including the ones on the stick and never seen system that does not have password(s) protection and all is wide open.
I would never come here asking for help, but because he has access to my website I don't want it to be compromised. So I'm kinda paranoid.
Was searching here and on google..Did check ebay if they offer some custom complied USB sticks with Ubuntu on it.
My friend obtained the stick from his uncle about 6 months ago.
There is no possibility at this moment to contact his uncle.
Any thoughts?
