I'm just down the road from you too, in Kirikiriroa.
    Many thanks.

Yes, they're not a bad bunch, even if I was tearing my hair when they were in their teens.

I think that the one with the new baby is getting a crash course in all the wonderful things that mothers/parents have to do. And he thanked me this morning for what I'd done over the years.

I've been through Kirikiriroa a few times, about 2 hours drive from here. At least, you're close enough to the land of the JAFAs to know that we don't all have two heads.

Oh i lived in Aucks for 30 years before we moved down here about 10 years ago. I still really like Auckland, but the house prices and traffic drove us away. It's a truly multicultural, international city - i love that about it.

"And he thanked me this morning for what I'd done over the years." - so he's realising just how hard it is being a parent? A bit of an 'eye-opener' for him by the sounds of it

Both of them, I think. My daughter-in-law said to me, a few days before the birth, "I don't feel ready to be a mother."

My reply: "I don't think anyone ever does."

It's such a massive change, and we only learn by doing. I remember that all too well! Fortunately, I think the little ones are fairly resilient - we'd not have survived this long, otherwise.
