12.04 smplayer freeze

sometime after play or pause a video, smplayer freezes and here's the log:

Maybe using pulse instead of alsa for the audio output could help.

pulseaudio is removed from my system and i'm using alsa in all applications. they are the same settings i used to have in kubuntu 11.10 which i had no problem.


PS. i'm trying the libass thing now

Let's just make sure you have an 8xxx or later NVIDIA card, and that you have installed the proprietary NVIDIA driver. Without those you can't use VDPAU. What if you select xv or the opengl video drivers in SMPlayer from Options > General > Video?

What about regular mplayer from the CLI? "mplayer -v blah blah" log output from the time of the freeze would be darned useful.

i posted two logs in my previous post from 2 different crashes...

notes: vlc on kubuntu was working flawlessly and smplayer in lubuntu 12.04 is also working flawlessly...
