    Dual booting: sharing swap??

Im currently running Kubuntu 12.04 but want to give Ubunutu 12.04 a try so Im going to dual boot. I have Kubuntu on a 60 gb ssd with /var and swap on my hdd (swap is at the end of the disk). My plan is to put Ubuntu on a separate partition of my ssd and then create another small /var partition on my hdd. Can these two OSs share the swap space or am I going to have to make a separate swap partition for Ubuntu?

It is possible. Just don't hibernate one OS and then boot another.

You can share swap space but you will not be able to hibernate one os and boot the other.
