Re: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Suspend not working FIX

I tried everything you suggested, but no success
Actually, mine does get back to the home screen, but the keyboard and touchpad is not functional. Simply nothing works. So what I have to do every time, is to shut it down forcibly, and then turn on normally :S

    Please Help!

Cool Re: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Suspend not working FIX

March 18th 2013 with 12.04 LTS and all updates and the later, simpler code, fixed it for me too. Thank you so much!

sailorboy, I also have a Dell Dimension 4700. My graphics card is a Diamond Radeon HD 5450. Look in your bios settings-the bit about the graphics cards (F2 to go to setup>maintenance>serr dmi message--SHUT IT OFF). My resume from suspend works after looking for the answer for nearly 4 weeks!

I found I had to push the power button to resume sometimes. I installed hibernate and resume from suspend seems to work as it should now.

Re: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Suspend not working FIX

Unfortunately this didn't work for me. My machine wakes fine from Suspend if I issue the command, but not if I close the lid (yup, I'm on a laptop). If I do, it wakes to a black screen and I have to reboot. I've got 1.2GB of RAM and a 2GB swap partition. When I try the first script, I get a few errors:

    Code:
(gedit:2198): Gtk-WARNING **: Attempting to store changes into `/root/.local/share/recently-used.xbel', but failed: Failed to create file '/root/.local/share/recently-used.xbel.87N6UW': No such file or directory

(gedit:2198): Gtk-WARNING **: Attempting to set the permissions of `/root/.local/share/recently-used.xbel', but failed: No such file or directory

    (gedit:2198): GLib-GIO-WARNING **: Missing callback called fullpath = /root/.local/share/recently-used.xbel
And then it doesn't work. When I try the second script, I don't get any errors, but it still doesn't work. I'm using a Toshiba Portege R100. Any ideas?

Thanks DrangonNinga9, the second script (post #6) fixed this for my Linux Mint 13 install (based on Ubuntu 12.04) running Linux 3.2.0-40-generic (64 bit). So, one more kernel version your script works for.
