wifi usb problems (awus036H)

Hi.
I Cant get my wifi usb antenna to work, it works great on my other computer(mac,windows), but not with ubuntu, any ideas what I could do? Its a Alfa AWUS036H.
Do I need a driver? the antenna shows up underneath when i press the wireless icon in the upper right corner, I can see more networks than with the wireless card, and my signal is stronger also, and I can connect is says but some how the internet doesn't seem faster at all..

any help will be appreciated..
