How do I install Windows programs with Wine?

Quite simple really, and I'm running Lucid.

Not so simple if the program in incompatible. Install playonlinux and try to install though that. It makes the installation easier.

I'd get the file from the website. PlayonLinux always complains about having the latest version. The Ubuntu Software Center will install it for you.

You're going to have a tough time with steam. I believe it's possible, but it's just not stable.
