What version of ubuntu are you using? What are you trying to change with it? I am not sure why it is not offered in 12.04's repos.

Looks like it was removed because it was breaking people's systems. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...er/+bug/886640

What are you trying to do?

i was trying to select a Patched Kernel with better support for generic tablets, i have a Genius G-Pen, just some minutes ago i found how to enable the boot menu and there i could find the Kernel i wanted to use, and my current version is 12.04, that explains why is not offered anymore but thanks anyway

I'm setting up a dual-boot Dell GX520 for some friends with young boys, and wanted to include a GUI method for them to choose whether XP or Xubuntu boots up.

No SUM, so I guess they're stuck with Xubuntu first!

I've edited GRUB (well GRUB 1, not 2) but a GUI alternative is certainly easier and less scary.

Use Grub-Customizer if you need the GUI. Works well in 12.04.
