Unable to play Rise of the Triad(RotT) in UBUNTU 12.04

Hi Team,

I'm using ubuntu for the first time. I have installed the game using UBUNTU Software Centre. But I'm not able to start the game. Please help me with it.

Try running it from the terminal, and post the results here.

This is what I got when I started the game from terminal

Area         = 1

So it seems like you have to have the actual wad files from the original/demo in order to play.

in any case what you actually need is a dobox (Dos emulator) or some engine that makes it play on linux.

for dosbox configuration you can use DBGL (needs sun java)

No need for dosbox the source was released so it was ported.

No, he just needs the WAD file from the Shareware version of the game. He's not trying to run the DOS version, he's running the Linux port. You know, since the game was open sourced 10 years ago and was shortly after ported to Linux.
