File search tool options for GNOME 3.4

Hello, what are the options (preferably easier ones) for installing file search tools/extensions in GNOME 3.4 overview? I searched extensions website, and through Zeitgeist info pages, but it looked a bit difficult at the first sight. Are there any dedicated extensions that could be easily installed?

Install synapse. It utilizes zeitgeist and I couldn't do without it. Once installed just initialize once and it will start at login. When you want to search, run terminal command or launch program, CTRL + Space brings up the app.

Thanks for the tip. So I need to install Zeitgeist first, and then Synapse?

No problem. Glad to help! I like it as you can run terminal commands as well.

This is a nice app, used gnome-do before, so recognizable. But is there a tool that integrates search in the gnome 3 activities window? So if I want a file/application/whatever I just use superkey and start typing whatever I want to find.

I think you need "zeitgeist-fts-extension" which is available in synaptic.
However I have a similar problem as I cannot install it for some reason; maybe because 10.10 is no longer supported?
